As a blogger or business it is important to create engaging content to draw traffic to your website and retain a loyal following whilst picking up new followers at the same time. Whilst the rewards can be vast it can be a time consuming task and one that is often questioned by business owners. Is it worth it?
Think of it this way. You have thought of an engaging topic to write about which you know will speak directly to your target audience. You compose and edit this post and publish it on your website for your existing followers. However, the blog post isn’t done yet. It will not rank in google searches for days, weeks, months and years to come. So is it worth spending time creating this content, will it create all of the future lead generation you thought of? The answer is YES!
There are more ways you can spread this content further through the minefield of Social Media. Through these platforms you can speak direct to your readers/consumers and promote your carefully crafted blog posts. There are a few tips to make this process easier:
- On most website editors there is a function to automatically share your newly published content direct to Facebook or Twitter. If you have this set this up immediately it will save you hours in the long run!
- Once your post is live share the link on your personal profile and also all of your Social Media Platforms (if not connected to your website editor)– I would recommend Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest but choose the platform(s) right for your blog or business.
- Facebook groups is a great tool for sharing written content. Share on your business page and within relevant groups. Sign up to join communities of facebook users who are your target audience and share your post when relevant within these groups.
- EDMs are also another great way of reaching your existing followers and also some new ones too – ask your followers to share the email with their friends or families.
Follow these “must do” 4 tips and keep working at creating entertaining and engaging content to draw in more and more readers and followers to give you more “pulling power” when it comes to working with brands or establishing sales.
