As the excitement and thrill of the #icebucketchallenge cools down, the #bookbucketchallenge rises high.  Now since the trend has begun, every company/ organisation is trying to replicate the ALS strategy for donations or many corporates are trying their luck at the “Giving” viral Strategy similar to West Jet and TD bank. So far the book bucket challenge has not reached the corners of the globe, but is going strong.Â
What is the Book Bucket Challenge?
It is started by  Team OLPV (One Library Per Village) Incubated at Startup Village in Kochi. The main aim of book bucket challenge is to tackle illiteracy by donating those books to the less fortunate and help eradicate illiteracy by spreading the joy of reading. The challenge entails donating books to the needy and raising funds to setup libraries in villages and schools.
How to Participate in the Book Bucket Challenge?
The Challenge is now trending on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. To take up this challenge, list 10 books that inspired your life, post them as a status updated on your social networking profiles with the hashtag #BookBucketChallengeÂ

The “One Library Per Village” supports the concept that children who learn to enjoy reading at an early age continue to read throughout their lives. In order to develop a love of reading, children must have access to books which stretch their imaginations, touch their emotions, expand their horizons.
For many children in rural areas, the local public library is often their primary source of reading material. Many rural schools either have no library or the library is inadequate to meet the needs of the students. Global Reach?
Since the challenge has hit social media, and has gone viral on Facebook it has managed to sweep into China through China’s Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo. TIt went viral within China on Sept 5 as writer and translator Fang Bolin listed 10 books. Hong Kong writer Liao Weitang later followed suit.
Let’s wait and watch how this viral campaign take a turn.

They have listed the possible books Indian Politicians would donate if at all they are nominated.
